Doe Compliance SBC Working
As of December 31st, 2021, the DOE Enforcement Policy extension, which permitted the continued manufacture of certain water heaters, will expire. The expiration of this extension will impact not only Vaughn Thermal Corporation, but also the entire water heater market as it shifts to adhere to the appropriate requirements.
Electric storage water heaters with 12 kW or less input must now meet applicable NAECA III efficiency requirements and must be rated in terms of Uniform Energy Factor (UEF). Models with less than 20- gallon capacity are not impacted, but electric storage water heaters with a rated storage capacity greater than 55 gallons and inputs less than or equal to 12 kW must comply. Effective immediately, Vaughn has implemented changes to the Light Duty Electric Water Heater and Commercial Electric Water Heater (Model SE). New marketing materials will be distributed detailing the available model selections. The following is a summary of these changes
