For your smart building, our electronic controllers offer flexible scheduling for seasonality or occupancy, load shifting during peak hours, and reduced energy use. From basic timers to advanced grid-interactive modules, these devices can deploy at any commercial or residential scale. The EC6 controller meets utility requirements for demand response, while remaining simple for end users to operate. Gateway-neutral, WIFI, Cellular, and BACnet Interfaces enable two-way real-time communication and control of the appliances.
Electronic Controller (ETC 160 and ETC 194)
The Vaughn Electric Controller 160/171/194 comes factory programmed to reduce electricity use through smarter water heater operation. It handles complex parameters with a simple, easy-to-use interface. Independent management of top and bottom electric heating elements for enhanced efficiency. Temperature limits based on model: 160°F, 171°F (residential max), and 194°F (commercial use like the Sanitizer). Automatic reset functions on 160 and 194 models.
Energy Controller (EC6)
The Vaughn Energy Controller (EC6) is a load control device, often used in utility demand response programs. It modulates water heater operation based on utility signals. This helps lower energy use and reduce strain on the electrical grid. Microprocessor technology offers flexible programming. Includes a diagnostic indicator for quick status checks. Compatible with 208–240V systems.
WIFI and Cellular Interface
Vaughn WiFi and Cellular interfaces give users remote access to water heater controllers for monitoring, tracking, and reprogramming. These interfaces act as a communication supplement to the existing schedule. The Cellular option installs easily and stays connected even if the WiFi network changes. Compatible with all major browsers.
BACnet Interface
The Vaughn BACnet interface module allows water heaters to communicate with the building automation system (BAS). Through this connection, facility teams can monitor water temperature, adjust settings, and manage energy use remotely—all through the same platform that controls HVAC and other systems. Implements BACnet MS/TP protocol only.
